A real surprise. We were staying at Ngati Toa Domain, get there early for a spot with estuary views, and we were just going to have a quick blat around the Paremata inlet because it looked a bit scenic although the south half was all on the roads, and then Jill fired up mapy, the best bike route app ever, and noticed all the tracks around the back of Whitby. We ended up with nearly 30km of off road easy fun, with the beautifully restored church and rose-gardened graveyard at Pauatahanui and the Gear House at Porirua to break the trip. Excellent boardwalk on the north side too.
